Bookings verses Street hails
A female passenger made an interesting comment last night.
She catches taxis every day both from her house and from ranks within the City. She said in her experience she had felt more comfortable and had less hassle with drivers when calling cabs from her home. Drivers who would predominately pick up hails were less friendly, and less willing to go out of their way to assist a passenger.
Of course there are exceptions.
She explained this to me after I picked her up from a City rank and she asked if I preferred working hails or radio jobs. When I replied I usually prefer radio work she went on to tell me of her experiences.
It makes you think.
