100 plates to be released for xmas
Read the news.com.au article here
What a load of crap!!
When I received my letter regarding the taxi plates they gave me 10days to respond and then a further 90 days to get my taxi on the road. Longer if I kept them advised of why things were delayed.
That puts the allowed time for me to get my van on the road at the end of January, Hardly in time for the festive season rush.
You will notice though how the article actually states “PERTH will get 100 more peak period taxi plates in time for the busy Christmas and New Year party season.” This is in fact true. DPI will release 100 taxi plates in time for Christmas, when the taxis are actually up and running is another matter entirely.
In fact to guarantee that even 1 taxi would definitely be on the road for Christmas the plates would have to be released in August or early September!
Nice PR exercise Alannah. Shame it’s a bit lite on fact!
